This is an electron photomicrograph showing subepithelial, hump-shaped deposits. This finding is traditionally associated with infection-associated glomerulonephritis (especially post-Strep GN) which is still the most common etiology. However, it is important to understand that this finding is not entirely specific to infection and can rarely be seen in a range of kidney diseases (such as C3 glomerulonephritis).
