Arkana Employee Spotlight: Drea

Meet Arkana’s very own superwoman, Andrea Westra. Drea works on our billing team where her primary job is to handle BCBS and Medicare claims. She keeps track of all payments and appeals and is the go-to person for any billing questions in that area. In addition, she runs the monthly meeting with our billing department, keeping track of the numbers of claims and appeals for each of the different insurance teams. She also works with fee schedules for all of the insurance companies we work with and makes sure payments are consistent with contracted rates. A whiz at detail and organization, Drea is a tremendous asset to our billing team.

Outside of the office, Drea and her family have a large farm raising Rambouillet and Columbia sheep. They have 500 ewes in their care, and during lambing season (December through April), they will have 1000 lambs. In addition to all of the general duties that come with farm life, Drea and her sons also show their sheep at international (when held in the USA), national, state, and local shows.

Drea and her husband have two sons who are active in basketball, track, and baseball. She finds time to attend all of their games, and as a former athlete herself, she even coaches the boys’ basketball team in the winter.

We’re so thankful to have such a strong, hard-working team member in Drea!
