Are the mitotic figures in the images from this epithelioid skull base neoplasm normal or abnormal?
Answer:
These are abnormal mitotic figures. The chromatids line up in the upper mitotic figure, but on close inspection the spindle is abnormal. In the lower mitotic figure the chromatids are in the process of separating, but in a disorganized fashion.
